Originally from Riga, Latvia, Max now splits his time between New York and St. Thomas USVI. He studied classical painting techniques from an early age at the Art Academy of Latvia and with renowned Latvian painters Ralfs Jansons and Anita Meldere. Since arriving in the United States, Max studied painting at the Massachusetts College of Art, School of the Museum of Fine Art at Tufts University, and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York. His work can be regularly seen in New York and Hudson Valley galleries and art shows.
